Drew buys some new LED lights for his streaming/meeting/broadcasting needs, and he's ashamed of what he's done and tries to think of ways to get them to mount to his desk. Meanwhile, Paul switches to the good microphone for actual work use and it's a game changer. Paul starts the planning (and spending) early for his big birthday bash. Paul is also concerned about some upcoming lab work for his son. Meanwhile, Drew moans about proper 4K support for his Raspberry Pi 4 and using it as a video game emulator, and finally, the boys talk logistics for their upcoming 50th(!) recording, which they'll live stream to all of their 60 listeners.
48: I'm sure they can handle 13 inches
Drew makes a social faux pas at Target. The boys discuss masking up. Drew has realized he might be addicted to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, while Paul talks about his current gaming habits and those of his son. The MacBook Pro 13" drops, with the new keyboard, and Drew might just have to get one. Paul continues to wage war against Amazon and vows to never give up and to never surrender. Drew talks about working with Apple Motion to design streaming assets. Paul and Drew discuss a special plan for their upcoming 50th episode.
47: I'm sure they won't depress all their listeners
Paul celebrates a Doing Their Best Podcast milestone. Drew shares a domain name he owns and got notified about. The boys check to see how their creepy government front hotel is holding up amidst a pandemic (it's available!). Paul watched Waco and was enthralled, which leads the boys to break down the show and compare its presentation to other sources and other facts. Finally, the boys talk about other big national events that shaped their childhoods, which makes them both pretty sad in the process.
46: I'm sure they'll quarantine their packages
Drew talks about working with PowerBI for a work "project." Paul provides some banana-related follow-up. Drew reviews some fruit snacks. The boys discuss some media they are ingesting, starting with "Waco" on Netflix, "Batman: White Knight" (which Paul HIGHLY recommends), "Operation Odessa," and "Bob's Burgees." Drew shares some info about his current stress level, and wonders if he isn't okay. Drew hurt his foot, and his mental health takes a hit as well. Paul promotes the new podcast "California King" starring the duo's favorite podcaster, Merlin Mann. Drew provides a retrospective on his water cooling efforts, and how he'll approach future PC builds. Drew talks about an upcoming self-study data project. Paul provides a "Dungeons and Dragons" campaign update that he and Drew are a part of.
43: I'm sure they do more than play video games
Paul teaches Drew more tips and tricks for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which leads the discussion into more video games that the boys are playing (or will be playing). Then, it's Corona virus update time, and Paul finds some unexpected disruptions. Paul gives drew a recommendation in "Tiger King." Drew gives an update on his computer building journey, and might, finally, have all his parts replaced and fixed his second computer, which is now a dedicated streaming PC. Drew then gives a streaming update, and how he's finding sharing his gameplay with people.
42: I'm sure they'll get their fingers out of their mouths
Paul and Drew discuss their nasty, filthy nail biting habits, and the steps they take to combat them (Paul) or the steps they take to not (Drew). The boys give their Coronavirus related updates, and how they're managing: from VPN issues, using Microsoft Teams for collaboration, and how they buy their guns. Paul gives a campaign update to the Dungeons and Dragons game he's running, and discussing the teething issues the gang had with their new online reality. Drew, meanwhile, has been exploring the world of streaming, and is... enjoying(?) it. Then, the conversation turns to Animal Crossing, and Paul gives Drew a lot of pointers. Finally, Paul has a new album recommendation, and Drew achieves a DevOps milestone.
41: I'm sure they'll figure out their pizza situation
The boys talk remote work, and how they're adjusting their workflows (and how they aren't). Drew talks about his Bawls, and his new ultra-powerful handheld vacuum. Paul and Drew talk Columbus pizza, and what they like. Drew laments the (temporary?) closure of some of his favorite local restaurants. Paul decides to run an online Dungeons and Dragons campaign, so Drew decides to create a character live on-air and names him after his favorite person.
